Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game by Rockstar Games that has achieved great success from critics and players alike, and has won several awards. Besides providing an interesting single player experience, Red Dead Redemption also provides a multiplayer portion entitled Red Dead Online. Unfortunately, Red Dead Online is currently lacking players compared to its rival, GTA Online. But Rockstar still provides the latest content to keep the game alive. Right now, it looks like Rockstar is trying to increase Red Dead Online’s popularity by separating it from Red Dead Redemption 2 into a standalone game.
Red Dead Online is scheduled to be released separately from December 1 for all platforms. Rockstar announced that Red Dead Online is priced at a fairly low price of $ 4.99. However, this price is only temporary as it will increase on February 15, 2021 to $ 20.
Red Dead Online itself will have a capacity of around 123 GB and will have the option to purchase Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode separately. This is not the first time Rockstar has used this strategy. A few months ago Rockstar announced that GTA Online will also be a standalone game and will be released in mid-2021.
Tarek Ahmad as director of design production from Rockstar North through his interview with PCGamer explained that currently the Rockstar team is focusing on developing the world of Red Dead Online. Ahmad also stated that the setting from the world in that era provided a wide range of stories with various kinds of characters so that they could be enjoyed alone or together with friends.
The Standalone version of Red Dead Online will be released in conjunction with the Bounty Hunters expansion, which will present a variety of new “fugitives”, as well as a variety of new equipment and skills. In addition, the latest Legendary Bounties and 100 rank Outlaw Pass will also be presented.
Red Dead Online will be available on December 1, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms (also available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility feature) as well as Epic Games Store and Steam for PC Platforms.
